Our Purpose

The Jackson/West Tennessee Continuum of Care (CoC) welcomes all individuals and organizations committed to ending homelessness in our region. We especially encourage participation from those with lived experience of homelessness, and we offer modest resources to help support their involvement.

Our Mission

The Mission Statement of Jackson/West Tennessee CoC, Inc. is to reduce homelessness and to improve family stability by increasing housing resources and support services, through collaborative efforts with partner organizations when available.

Our History

The Continuum is a consortium of organizations and individuals dedicated towards the mission to reduce homelessness, promote affordable housing for persons with special needs by coordinating services, provide specialized support services to individuals using housing services, and provide specialized support services and consultation to agencies providing housing services. In addition, further opportunities for the innovative delivery of housing and supportive services in both the public and private sectors. The Continuum will engage in all lawful activities in furtherance of or incidental to the foregoing purposes.

Join Our COC

The Jackson/West Tennessee CoC is dedicated to streamlining and strengthening the current delivery system through even greater collaborative planning, partnership, and program execution.

The CoC is made up of Government entities, elected officials, non-profit organizations, financial institutions, businesses, churches, healthcare providers, homeless and formerly homeless, and others.

 

🛠️ What Our Members Do

CoC members work collaboratively to:

  • Develop local and regional solutions to end homelessness

  • Meet monthly to discuss current challenges, opportunities, and joint projects

  • Implement federal HUD requirements that allow our region to access approximately $1.7 million annually in support for housing and service programs

Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds and sectors, including:

  • Local and regional governments

  • Housing agencies and developers

  • Social service providers

  • Veterans’ organizations

  • Mental health and healthcare institutions

  • Law enforcement and school districts

  • Universities and research institutions

  • Businesses and community leaders

  • Individuals with lived experience of homelessness

  • Concerned citizens who share our mission

Everyone is welcome, regardless of their role or affiliation, as long as they are committed to the cause.

Membership in the Jackson/West Tennessee CoC is open and unlimited.
Any person or organization can join if they are committed to working collaboratively to end homelessness in our community.
